The active ingredient is botulinum toxin type A which has been used successfully in cosmetic treatments and in treating medical conditions. It prevents muscle contractions thus reducing muscle activity during facial expressions that can cause fine lines and wrinkles.
The results can be seen within a week but usually it takes 14 days to achieve the full effect.

Jane O'Dowd can provide a treatment which involves administering Botox to the underarm area which targets Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Grinding, clenching and TMJ discomfort can be eased by injecting botox into the TMJ area. This can temporarily paralyse the muscle which in turn helps to relieve the symptoms.
You will have small bumps underneath the sites immediately after treatment, these will go.
Don’t
Avoid make-up over injected area.
If area is washed, gently pat dry with soft towel.
Reduce bruising by applying ice or cover it up with concealer.
Headaches occasionally occur after treatment, take painkillers as you would normally.
Exercise the treated area hourly by frowning and raising eyebrows.
Don’t massage the area – this may cause the toxin to spread and affect adjacent muscles and cause unwanted effects like eyebrow droop.
Try to sleep on your back for the first week.
Should you require a minor adjustment, you will need to book a review appointment no less than 2 weeks & no longer than 4 weeks after the initial treatment.
