Crowns are used to strengthen teeth that are very heavily filled or have been weakened by decay. They can also be used to improve the appearance of discoloured teeth.

They can be made using gold, metal or porcelain or a combination of these materials, depending on where in the mouth they are being placed. Replacement of old unsightly crowns with cosmetic ceramic crowns.

A bridge would be used to replace a missing tooth or teeth, it would also help to restore the natural appearance and functionality of your teeth. To fix a bridge a false tooth would be attached to the tooth/teeth adjacent to the gap using a crown giving a natural appearance.

Root canal therapy is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth, known as the pulp, becomes infected through decay or trauma. When this happens, root canal therapy will remove the infection from the root canal. Your dentist will then fill the canals of the tooth and restore it using a filling or crown allowing the tooth to be saved.
